This desk has been my home for weeks. And even though it hasn't been that long, I feel like I've been here for a fucking eternity. These papers, these wrestlers, these fans, this lawyer, this personality, these requests, these complaints.
**..
All of this and I feel like I should be in a wheelchair. I feel like Eric looked when I walked in the door. Aramis hasn't so much as called me, I bet she forgot about this job. That bitch, she left me with this crazy truckload of angry people trying to make a living...
**iss?
What am I going to do? Travis was right, look at that... I'm just a trussed up chicken under a red hat. And what am I going to do? Their all going to quit if we keep this up.
I miss Robyn. It seems I see him more here than home. Wait.. that's because I'm never fucking home.
"Miss? Miss Fantine?!" There was more than a note of panic in Rose's voice.
Looking up from yet another letter of demand from Mr. Roth, Fantine removed her glasses. "I'm sorry Rose, I'm just in my own little world today."
"You certainly aren't yourself." Setting a cup of hot tea, she set about to organizing the papers. "Any one you want to see today?"
"No," came the groaning reply. Though the hot tea felt good, it led her now much sleepier footsteps to the leather couch she'd spent at least the last three nights on. Thoughts of home in bed drifted into her mind again, bringing a smile to her face for a moment.
"But Miss Fantine? What about Mr. King? He openly made fun of you!"
"It won't be the first time, nor the last." She answered back, kicking off her pumps as she eased back into the soft embrace of her couch. "It's something he does, like his gimmick. He razzes the best of us. And he moves on."
"But Miss-"
"He's also right Rose. Think about it. I'm running this blasted place on my own! All I did was update the building and brought in a few new wrestlers. And it's still the same thing, only now it's harder. I have to manage this company, put a face up for them to see, and deal with the leaglities involved."
"I'm tired Rose. And if Aramis doesn't get her ass in gear I'm going to take some steps of my own."
Rose smirked. "So you do plan to go through with it?"
"If I have to. I will. But she's got some time left."
"Well don't work yourself too hard Miss. Would you like some more tea?"
She would have answered yes, had she been awake. Rose tucked a small blanket around her before turning the lights down and resuming her cleaning. Before leaving that night.
As she skimmed over the pages she smied to herself. It was going to be much easier than she thought.
